Banish Brown Spots & Other Sun Damage with a Chemical Peel

Damage from too much time in the sun goes beyond giving you a minor sunburn. Overexposure leads to dark pigmentation, as well as fine lines and wrinkles. You can develop freckles and brown discoloration, also called sun spots. What’s more, it makes your skin age more quickly, so you look older than you really are.

At Skin Serenity Medispa, we focus on helping men and women look and feel their very best, and that’s why we work to rid your skin of sun damage and brown spots that can add years to your appearance. We often suggest chemical peels to eliminate that damaged skin.

Designed to give your skin a deep exfoliation, chemical peels remove the outer layers of old, damaged skin, and expose the fresh, vibrant skin underneath. With chemical peels, you see drastic improvements that clear away sun damage, including:

What’s more, once your skin heals, you have a fresh, radiant glow that lasts for months.

Banish your brown spots once and for all

Topical skin treatments may lessen the look of dark pigmentation and brown spots, but that doesn’t erase them, and they don’t get to your more youthful-looking skin beneath. But with a chemical peel, you can choose from three levels of exfoliation to ensure you get exactly what you need. Here at Skin Serenity Medispa, we offer three main types of chemical peels: Superficial, Medium, and Deep.

Superficial chemical peels

If you have minimal sun damage but want to brighten your complexion, a superficial chemical peel, also known as a light peel or a lunchtime peel, exfoliates the outer layer of your skin without causing significant irritation. This peel addresses uneven skin pigmentations with little to no downtime, but may require multiple treatment sessions (between 3-5) to get optimal results.

ZO Medical Stimulator Peel

Looking for a great superficial chemical peel? Look no further than the ZO® Medical Stimulator, an effective but gentle peel that addresses uneven skin tone, without causing aggressive irritation. Perfect for targeting acne, light sun damage, fine lines, melasma, large pores, and dull skin, this peel will leave your skin feeling completely rejuvenated.

Medium chemical peels

For those who have more prominent sun damage, including uneven skin tone, sun spots, and fine lines and wrinkles, a medium chemical peel removes both the outer layer of your skin and part of the next layer, nearly eliminating many of the signs of sun damage. After your treatment, the skin swells and turns red for up to 48 hours, before crusting and peeling. In 7-14 days, your skin will look smooth and even, with the effects of the sun gone for good.

Obagi Blue Peel Radiance

When you want your skin to look its best, opt for the Obagi Blue Peel®. By removing layers of old, damaged skin, this peel makes way for new, fresh skin to make its way to the surface, improving your skin’s health and making it look vibrant, firm, and enhanced with a natural glow with minimal downtime.

Deep chemical peels

For those with extensive sun damage, a deep chemical peel may be the best option. This peel exfoliates deep within the layers of your skin, addressing hyperpigmentation issues and stubborn discoloration, as well as fine and wrinkles. Deep chemical peels can take some time to heal and we discuss every case on an individual basis to ensure you get the right treatment for you and your skin.

VI Peel with Precision

VI Peel® with Precision deeply exfoliates your skin, reducing and reversing many of the signs of aging, including sun damage and brown spots. This deep chemical peel is perfect for those who have uneven skin tone, sun spots, and fine lines and wrinkles.

VI Peel with Precision Plus

Take your skin needs one step further with a VI Peel® with Precision Plus. This powerful deep chemical peel exfoliates deep within the layers of your skin, addressing hyperpigmentation issues and stubborn discoloration, as well as fine and wrinkles.

Keep sun damage away

After your chemical peel, your skin will feel and look as though it’s sunburned. Depending on the type of peel, your skin may turn red, swell, blister, or crust before the old skin peels off, revealing the fresh, new skin beneath it.

Once this skin is exposed, protect it, because it’s fragile! Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more every day. Avoid the sun during peak hours (10am to 2pm) and wear a wide-brimmed hat when outside for long periods of time.

If sun damage, including age spots, brown spots, freckling, and hyperpigmentation, makes you want to hide your skin, you can find a long-lasting, noninvasive way of improving your skin’s texture and tone, typically with dramatic results.
