Carol O'Connell, Founder & Spa Director

Carol is the founder and director of Skin Serenity Medispa.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management. Her credentials include a Class I license in cosmetology and a license in aesthetics.

Carol is also a clinical skin care specialist, laser therapist and an Obagi health restoration specialist. She has many certifications in advanced skin care classes and specializes in:

Pigmented Skin Disorders
Laser
Microdermabrasion
Chemical Peels

Carol has worked in the medical field in Surgical Services providing quality patient care. Her passion is the beauty industry and the art of skin care that includes offering the most advanced treatments available in today's industry. Her dedication to the expanding skin care industry has prompted Carol to facilitate continuing education classes for licensed personnel. Carol's husband and partner, Dan, has worked in education for the past thirty-two years and has served as an administrator since 1995.

Michele T. Sasmor, MD, FACS

Dr. Sasmor owns and operates her practice at Riversong Plastic Surgery and is the chief of surgery at Anna Jacques Hospital. Dr. Sasmor has been in the Newburyport/Anna Jaques Hospital community for ten years.

Because she enjoys working with children, woman and men of all ages, Dr. Sasmor has maintained both the reconstructive and cosmetic aspects of her practice.

Michael F. Kutka, MD

Dr. Kutka operates his practice at Riversong Plastic Surgery and has bimonthly office hours at Skin Serenity. Dr. Kutka graduated from Manhattanville College in Westchester, NY and went on to study medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr. Kutka completed his Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Vanderbilt University. It was in Nashville that Dr. Kutka was able to participate in all facets of Plastic Surgery. Reconstructive surgery is his first love, but he has also worked with prominent, local and private plastic surgeons and developed an appreciation for all aspects of cosmetic surgery.

At Riversong Plastic Surgery and Skin Serenity, Dr. Kutka applys his knowledge and talent in restorative surgery for the benefit of his patients. His specialities are in:

Julia Bowers, Founder & President, Pigmenta

Julia Bowers is founder and president of Pigmenta and performs all of our permanent make-up application. She also gives training and certification classes at Skin Serenity. She brings over twenty years of experience in the beauty industry. She has gained most of her training and knowledge from Europe, Asia and the United States.

Julia has been in various fields of teaching and education for permanent cosmetics, Esthetics and Cosmetology. Because of her expertise and experience she has been responsible for curriculum development and program implementation in prestigious schools around the globe. Julia has also received in depth training in medical esthetics, which introduced her to the art of permanent cosmetics. As a Dermapigmentologist she has been performing permanent procedures for over 15 years.

Stacey Delorio

Stacey Delorio has been in the spa industry for the past six years. She is certified by Strategies as an office manager and has serviced in that capacity at two spas.

Stacey is also a licensed aesthetician who graduated from Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics in 2004.

She is currently the office manager at Skin Serenity and is experienced in:

Cindy Sturgis

Cindy Sturgis is a 1993 graduate from Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics and is a master licensed aesthetician. she has been employed in the aesthetic field for the past 14 years in the Haverhill area and is an experienced master aesthetician.

She has attended several advanced aesthetic training classes, including product knowledge, skin care treatments and skin disorders.

Margaret Wade

Margaret Wade graduated from Hesser College in 2006 and has been working as a Massage Therapist since. In 2007 she completed continuing education courses at Cortiva Muscular Therapy Institute for Deep Tissue Therapy (down to the bone), and a Common Injuries workshop at Ben Benjamin's.

As a direct result of her hands-on work, Margaret is able to help her clients to release tension, reduce stress, and improved circulation, thereby improving their quality of life.

Kathryn Mallen, LIC. AC., DIPL. AC.

Kathryn Mallen is a graduate of Boston College and the Academy of Five Element Acupuncture. She is certificed in Chi Gong Healing and Tui-Na Therapy from the Oriental Culture Institute. Kathryn holds licenses from the Boards of Medicine in Florida, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, and is board certified as a Diplomat in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Her unique approach to treatment focuses on the whole person and incorporates the use of acupuncture with the knowledge of chiropractic, anatomy, physiology and designed clinical nutrition.
